Recommended Jack's Re-Certification
Considering an eight-hour a day shift.
Heavy-Duty: 12 months/year. Recertification every 1-2 years.
Moderate Usage: 6 months/year. Recertification every 2-3 years.
Light-Duty: 3 months/year. Recertification every 3-5 years.
Re-certify the jacks at least once every five years.
Re-Certification Test Scope
Pressure Test: Extend and retract the 6 & 12 MT jack at 1,750 PSI, and the 25 MT jack at 2,500 PSI. Hold pressure for three minutes, check for leaks.
Hydraulic Jack Cycle Test: Conduct one hundred strokes (extend and retract), check for leaks. Video Clip under construction
Hydraulic Jack Holding Test with UTM: The jack is tested to its rated capacity of either 6 or 12 MT at 1,750 PSI, and the 25 MT jack at 2,500 PSI. The test should be performed with the top grip jaws open and the bottom grip jaws closed. Verify that there is no slippage of the jack on the column.
Mechanical Jaws of Jack Holding Test with UTM: The jack is loaded to its rated capacity of 6, 12, or 25 MT with the top grip jaws closed and the bottom grip jaws open. Verify that there is no slippage of the jack on the column.
Notes:
1. The Re-Certification applies only to the jack itself.
2. Repairs: Any repairs needed after the Re-Certification Tests are not included; For example, jack seal kits, grip jaws, springs and parts of the jack locking mechanism.
3. Indentation Refreshing: Over time, the column square bar may require indentation refreshing; otherwise, the jacks may begin to slip and fail to climb as intended. Irizar provides refreshing column indentations in our facility in Canada. We also built and sell an indentation machine designed for this purpose.
