"Patent in Progress". The AD-CB is designed to minimize longitudinal displacement [forward or backward] of the workpiece during rotation on conventional welding rollers. This common phenomenon is often referred to as the "screw effect". Occurs due to several factors:
1. The workpiece rotates a substantial number of turns while welding a large thickness.
2. Irregular workpiece (out of roundness)
3. An unbalanced center of gravity
4. Non-cylindrical geometries of the workpiece, such as a cone
5. An uneven shop floor
6. Misalignment of the roller beds
7. A combination of these factors.
The Anti-Drift Conversion Bed ensures a longitudinal vessel accuracy displacement of ±3.0 mm. This level of precision is achieved through a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and a Sensor Automatic Anti-Drift Controller. It is a retrofit solution that upgrades existing tank turning rolls to a precision anti-drift system without replacing the customer’s entire roller set.
